Cisco Holiday E-cards
The Cisco brand team was tasked with creating a collection of holiday e-cards. The cards are for employees to use to send holiday messages to customers, partners, and each other. I contributed two illustrations which I then animated.

The Work
The primary challenge was that the cards were not to reference any Christmas or any other specific holiday. The direction was simply to use a winter, or seasonal, theme.
For my first illustration, I chose to create whimsical, friendly winter animals. I chose animals specifically because their appeal is cross-cultural, and I wanted my design to resonate with a global audience. The languages used in the “Peace, Love, Prosperity” speech bubbles are Spanish, Russian, and Norwegian – languages used in the places where each animal originates.
For the second illustration, I chose to continue with global theme, but applied it more directly to align with the message. The snowflakes building the globe was a direct, yet clever way to send the message of teamwork and togetherness.
Each illustration was animated to bring the ideas to life.
Results
This was the first year illustrated, animated e-cards were released, and they were very popular. Of the dozen cards produced, metrics showed the two cards I created were in the top five most downloaded. The winter animals card was by far the most popular, accounting for over 30% of all downloads.
